The 1944 Alliance Normandy-Market Garden are the stakeholders of the MGVA memorial, it was one of the first memorials when the NMA was being built, we have re-furbished the Memorial to a modern memorial befitting to immortalise the memory of the Airborne & Land forces who took part in Operation “Market Garden” September 1944.
Thursday 17th September 2026; the 1944 Alliance Normandy-Market Garden will hold their annual act of remembrance and wreath laying ceremony on this the 82nd anniversary of operation “Market Garden” at the new MGVA memorial, form-up 11:45 for 12:00 service at the NMA Alrewas, www.thenma.org.uk everyone welcome, including veterans, members and standard bearers.
Saturday 22nd August 2026; VJ Day “81”; form-up 10:45 at Amphlett Hall, Crown Close, Bromsgrove B61 8DW, to march onto the Burma Star memorial for service and “Act of Remembrance” with wreath laying ceremony, 20, Market Street, Bromsgrove, B61 8DA. Standard bearers, veterans, members and guests very welcome, moved one week.
NSVA annual day trip is to the Royal Armouries museum, Leeds on Wednesday 9th September 2026, pick-up 09:00 Hunting tree Halesowen then 09:30 Portland Road, back of Strathallen hotel, I will ask John to arrange car parking at the Cobden, cost to guest association members, £26pp for 35 seater or £19pp for 49 seater coach, NSVA members are subsidized, names and numbers asap please so we know what size coach to book. pxk@btinternet.com
