It is with the deepest regret and a heavy heart I must inform you of the death of our dear Brother Gordon Duggins who died peacefully at home at 17:55 on 13/10/ 2021 at the age of 88 yrs.

May we all convey our sincere condolences, our thoughts and prayers now to Gordon’s family and friends, Gordon served in the Army Catering Corps and saw active service in the Korean war, (1950-1953) attached to the Royal Signals and the Welsh Regiment,  Gordon was a very active member of many organisations and associations, holding many office’s including the Federation of Birmingham Ex- Service Associations, (treasurer), British Korean Veterans Association, (Chairman and standard bearer), Royal Warwickshire Regiment Association, (chairman), 1944 Alliance Normandy-Market Garden, Land Rover pensioners club, and the Rover Pension fund as Trustee, plus many more groups, clubs and associations, Gordon played a big part in organising day trips and holidays for the Rover club, plus other activities, these are only a few things I know about Gordon, no doubt we will learn more about him in the coming days,

Gordon was a very active, genuine, gifted, and caring colleague. He was a most loyal and genuine friend, certainly a gentleman and very popular,

May I as Secretary, offer our condolences on behalf of the 1944 Alliance Normandy-Market Garden to all the many associations, standard bearers and all members, we offer the prayer below for all family and friends.

“Heavenly Father, you are closer to us than we are to ourselves and know the secrets of our hearts. Look with compassion on all who find it difficult at this moment. We give thanks to you for the life you have given to our friend, Gordon, We thank you for the talents he had and used for your service, and we thank you for the influence of his life, take the words of your servant and the expressions of love of friends to comfort Gordon’s family members and strengthen them for the days ahead, relieve them of their hurt and pain, enable them to live with their feelings, knowing that we all are gathered together in love, whether in this world or the next, and accepted through your son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Dear Gordon, our dear friend may you now Rest in Eternal Peace, in the care and protection of our dear Lord, Jesus Christ.                                                                        Rest in Peace, Amen.
